Workshop Technician

What we are looking for

Due to expansion and to maintain a high level of customer support we are seeking a dedicated Workshop Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate must have a high attention to detail, experience in welding/fabrication and agricultural machinery in general, knowledge of root crop harvesters and/or crop sprayers would be an advantage, although product training will be given. To be successful in this role you will need to be self-motivated, able to work alone and as part of a team with a flexible approach. Working for AgVantage UK Ltd, you’ll be part of a highly driven team and share our ambition of becoming the best supplier within our field. This role will be based in our workshop in Coates, Cambridgeshire.

You’ll be responsible for

Main duties expected of the candidate include, but are not limited to:

  • Pre delivery inspections and testing on all new machinery
  • Modification work on new machinery
  • Refurbishment of used machinery
  • Preparing machinery for export
  • Reporting faults to line manager
  • Stripping down, fault finding and replacing parts
  • Servicing, maintenance and repairs of agricultural machinery
  • Complete job sheets electronically
  • Experience in welding and fabrication is essential
  • Assisting mobile Service Technicians with work on site when required
  • Maintain a professional working environment

  • Have a clean UK driving licence and be willing to travel when required
  • Be flexible with regards to working seasonal overtime and some unsociable hours
  • Have sound time management and administration skills

Working hours: 8am – 5pm Monday – Thursday, 8am – 4pm Friday.
Overtime will be expected during busy periods.
